School Hours / Breakfast Schedule
The school building opens at 8:50 am for scholars. Breakfast will be served at 8:50 am for scholars in grades K-4 and 9:00 am for scholars in grades 5-8. To ensure the safety of all scholars, please make sure that your child/children do not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
The instructional day is from 9:10am - 3:40p.m. Scholars who do not walk home or take the bus are required to be picked up promptly by their parent/guardian when the dismissal bell rings at 3:40 p.m. Scholars in grades 1-3 will be dismissed from door A (basketball court), and grades 4-8 will be dismissed from Door B (playground).
Lunch
Scholars should bring their lunch in a lunch bag or paper bag. Junk food is not allowed in the cafeteria. This includes but is not limited to candy, gum, chips, pumpkin/sunflower seeds, and canned beverages. These
items will be collected and discarded if scholars bring them to school.
Tardiness
Scholars are expected to attend school daily. Regular attendance is essential for academic success. Scholars are also expected to be punctual. All scholars arriving to school after 9:10 a.m. must report to the main office to be recorded as tardy and issued a late pass. Parents/guardians are required to call the main office at 216-383-4555 in the event that their child will be absent. In addition to calling the main office, parents are required to send a note with their child upon return to school stating the reason for the absence. The excuse letter must include a legitimate reason for absence, a valid phone number and a legible signature.
Supplies
Scholars will need to arrive to school with basic supplies including notebooks, pencils and pens. Individual teachers will send home letters indicating what, if any, additional supplies are needed.
UniformsHannah Gibbons STEM is a uniform school and adheres to the dress code policy set forth by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Parents will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing to the school when scholars are not in compliance. Scholars can borrow missing clothing from the school in the event of an emergency.
