• About Me

My name is Kristen Falk and I am a School Psychologist. I have worked in CMSD for over 15 years and all of them have included Newton D. Baker School of Arts! I have met so many wonderful families and students at ND Baker and I look forward to meeting you.  As a mom and a school psychologist, I wish for all of our children to have self-confidence and independence. I want them to have solid (academic, social emotional) skills to rely on to make good choices. I want them to come to school prepared, to know they have a safe place to keep trying new things, and that we will do whatever we can to help them thrive.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami University, and both my Masters in Education and Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from Kent State University.   I am a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and am licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.

    What do I do?

As a school psychologist, I can provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, etc.) to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.

    NASP said it well…

“All children and youth can face problems from time to time related to learning, social relationships, making difficult decisions, or managing emotions such as depression, anxiety, worry, or isolation. School psychologists help students, families, educators, and members of the community understand and resolve both long-term, chronic problems and short-term issues that students may face. They understand how these issues affect learning, behavior, well-being, and school engagement. School psychologists are highly skilled and ready resources in the effort to ensure that all children and youth thrive in school, at home, and in life.”
