• Dear Hannah Gibbons Families,

We are half way through the second quarter and the first semester, please look for interims to be mailed home the week of November 21, 2016.  November has been a busy month at Hannah Gibbons.  Our entire school raised money for children with cancer through our Pennies for Patients coin drive, our 3rd grade scholars completed the Fall Ohio State Reading Test, and we held our STEM Family Night.

I want to provide you with some updates in regards to Hannah Gibbons.  Our enrollment is up nearly 70 students from the start of the school year and this is excellent news as more families are choosing Hannah Gibbons to educate their children.  In the month of December, every scholar will take the No Place for Hate pledge during a series of assemblies on December 2.  We have titled the assemblies “Peace on Earth Begins with Me”. We are working very hard to stomp out bullying at Hannah Gibbons.  We have peer mediators to assist with student mediations, we have implemented lunch monitors to assist with lunch and recess duty to prevent any instances of bullying from occurring, and we held a “Bury the Hate” event in October as well.  It is imperative that you have conversations with your children in regards to bullying, as well as to report any instance of bullying to an adult.

Every day and every minute counts!  I would like to ask for all of our families to continue to ensure that your child is in school each and every day, for the entire day.  I hope to see each and every parent at our December Parent Advisory Committee Meeting, more information will be forthcoming.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Gregory.adkins@clevelandmetroschools.org or 216.838.0750.

    Educationally,

    Greg Adkins
