    Kindergarten students:
    We are learning several new songs in preparation for Kindergarten Promotion.
     
     
     
    First and Second Grade students:
    We are learning to listen and copy rhythms that we hear.
    (Music: 1.3PR Read, write and perform using eighth notes, quarter notes and quarter rests. )
    We are learning to sing a song and play a game from Ghana called Obwisana. 
     
    Third Grade students:
    We are learning how to play the recorder.  We have learned how to read and finger B, A, and G.  
    Recorders are kept at school.   
     
     Fourth Grade students:
    We are learning how to play the recorder.  We have learned how to read and finger B and A.
    Recorders are kept at school.   
     
    Fifth Grade students:
    We are learning how to play the recorder.  We have learned how to read and finger B and A.
    Recorders are kept at school.   
     
    Sixth and Seventh Grade students:
    We have been learning about the characteristics of music in the 7 different time periods; Antiquity, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary.  We are learning important composers, popular instruments, and inventions.
     
     
    Eighth Grade students:
    We are learning about careers in music and how technology and media arts are used to create, perform, and listen to music.
    (Ohio State Music Standards 5 CE: Identify and describe non-performing careers in music.
     6 CE: Describe ways that technology and the media arts are used to create perform and listen to music.)
