    Raising Highly Capable Kids

    One class each week – 13 weeks

    Raising Highly Capable Kids program provides parents with an interactive, practical and hands-on tools to engage and build community with other parents. Through relevant stories and exercises, parents will learn about Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets – essential building blocks that can maximize their child’s potential and empower the whole family.     LINK Education Consulting will lead book clubs where parents have the opportunity to read and respond to literature with the same strategies their children are exposed to in the classroom, enabling them to dialogue with them using the language of school. Parents will model the joy found in reading a great book.

    As a parent trainer and social worker, Jowan Smith will provide interactive workshops on the college experience. Learn about building and maintaining positive relationships with school staff, how to research and apply for college scholarships, preparing for sports & activities and understanding how to get the most out of your college visit.
