Academics (Special Programs)
Problem Based Learning’s focusis on a real life problem within the community, state, country, and possibly internationally. Students in grades Pre-K – 3 focus on Inquiry Based Learning across the core subjects of ELA, Math, science, and social studies. They will participate in the STEAM Fair in May of each year. Grades 4-8 participate in Problem Base Learning and the annual STEAM Fair. Teams of teachers develop a problem, using a trans-disciplinary approach to develop a curriculum map, and lesson plans. The student must bring to the situation his/her own strengths and talents and put them to use. The school will allow students to take intellectual risks and prepare them to become inventive, creative problem-solvers for the 21st Century.
