Paul L. Dunbar School has embodied the Schoolwide Enrichment model for all its students. Dragon Scholars will develop their academic mastery and talents through varied enrichment experiences that are enjoyable, challenging, and interest-based. This is a 30-year research-based model that is effective at serving high-ability and regular education students including culturally diverse and low socioeconomic populations. The SEM model includes the gifted pull-out program that offers differentiated programming for creativity, task commitment and above average ability.

Unique to Paul L. Dunbar students is the St. Ignatius tutoring and mentoring of all Dragon Scholars. In addition, in the area of
mathematics, the CSUteach program provides college students to help tutor and track mathematics in grades 3 through 8. Because of Paul Dunbar's unique location, our Dragon Scholars are immersed in the cultural environment of Ohio City.

Students and adults at Paul L. Dunbar follow the creed of the mission: All that you teach, I will receive; All that you say, I will believe; All that I learn, I will Achieve! Our character strength for all Dunbar scholars is to Learn it! Work It! Own It! Go Dragons!
