10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Rock Your World with STEAM
Nestled in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood you will find one of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's high-performing, innovative high schools. Our students participate in community service projects, represent our school around the country and meet local and national leaders who teach students how to advocate for change.
Imagine a school where your child is encouraged to stand up and speak out for justice, peace and diversity. Facing History New Tech High School is the only school of its kind in the nation, using the Facing History and Ourselves curriculum along with the teamwork approach of the New Tech Network.
Our diverse student population studies racism, prejudice and anti-Semitism to develop more informed citizens who connect history and their own moral choices. Be part of the change!
We are a safe space for LGBTQ students.
There are certain things about being a teenager that transcend the boundaries of religion, race and geography.
Last week, at the 39th conference, the club honored the District’s top seniors and connected them with civic leaders to discuss issues that are important to the seniors and articulate their visions of the future.
As bike sharing gains momentum across the country, one CMSD student is preparing to launch a similar program that aims to give Cleveland’s children a form of safe and reliable transportation.
2/15/2017 -- Facing History New Tech students this week listened to the firsthand account of 88-year-old Albert Hersh, a Jewish man who was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp at age 14. The students had the chance to ask Hersh questions, take a photo with him, and for those who were particularly touched by his story, ask for a handshake or a hug.
As winter begins in Cleveland, CMSD is committed to making sure parents and caregivers know right away if the District decides to close their child's school due to inclement weather.
