Welcome to Kenneth Clement Boys' Leadership Academy (KCBLA)!
The mission of our school is to encourage, challenge & model excellence. Through a rigorous curriculum and social supports, we strive to develop young males with an active and creative mind, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, with the courage to act on their beliefs.
While the KCBLA culture focuses on leadership development, it embraces a connection with personal responsibility, respect and family unity.

About Our School
Kenneth W. Clement Boys' Leadership Academy is one of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s few schools offering single gender education.
We foster a learning environment that inspires, motivates and encourages young males from Pre-K through 8th grade to achieve academic excellence while providing social & emotional support daily. We begin each day with the reciting of our creed and ritual, preparing our scholars to be successful in a culture that stresses respect, compassion for others and displays of good character.
Our goal is to create scholars who are prepared to take active leadership roles in their high schools, universities, families and communities. It is our expectation that our scholars will become key contributors in this global society where we are building men of tomorrow, starting today.
Cleveland has been become the fourth chapter of Say Yes to Education, a historic development that will bring college scholarships to CMSD students while also providing services designed to keep them on track to graduation.
The CMSD News Bureau asked the winners for their teaching philosophies, what about their practices they will share with peers and how they will share it, what drew them to CMSD and urban education and who served as their role models. Here are excerpts from their responses.
