Life Skills

I have been an inclusion teacher (Team Teacher) for the past twelve years. All of the classes I have listed have been team teaching classrooms. The regular education teacher and I would design the academic content to be taught together. The curriculum has always been aligned with the State of Ohio Standards present at the time of instruction. As an intervention specialist, I would design hands-on activities for all lessons. In addition, I would make modifications and accommodations for student with a disabilities.

I am from Warren, Ohio. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree as an Intervention Specialist in December of 2002. Upon completion of this degree, I took a job with a rural school southeast of Cleveland, Ohio. Over the last twelve years, I have continued to educate myself to better serve my students' needs as an intervention specialist. In May of 2010, I earned my Master Degree in Evaluation and Measurement. This degree has helped me better understand the growth measure for individual students. As a result, I am better able to design curriculum to meet the needs of all students.

This is my first year with Cleveland Metropolitan Schools. My philosophy of education is that all students can learn as long as the teacher presenting the instruction understands the background information about his/her student’s learning styles. I believe that a student's individual learning style should guide the teacher's instruction on a daily basis. Over the past twelve years, I have participated in the following activities as a teacher: Drama club, Girls head Basketball coach, Volleyball assistant coach, and Assistant Track coach.
