Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mrs. Stahl and I am a first grade teacher in Room A126. I have been a teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 30 years. I received my undergraduate degree in education from Kent State University and my Master's Degree in reading from Ursuline College. Other schools in Cleveland that I have taught at include Stephen E. Howe, Mount Auburn, and Audubon. When my last school closed I chose to come to Andrew J. Rickoff. I have taught grades 1 through 5, but thoroughly enjoy teaching first grade students. What an exciting time in a child's educational life. First grade is a crucial year, because children are learning basic phonics skills. They are connecting the letter sounds they have practiced, to reading words that contain those same sounds. As children become more fluent in reading words, they work on comprehension skills. Connections are made between a child's personal experiences to the text that they are reading. Let's all soar together to new heights as Andrew J. Rickoff Eagles!!
