FAFSA help available this weekend
Completing the FAFSA is required for obtaining federal financial aid for college. Many colleges and universities also use the form to determine what a student will receive from the state.
On Super Refund Saturday, sponsored by the Higher Education Compact of Greater Cleveland and College Now of Greater Cleveland, students and parents can get direction not only in filling out the FAFSA but also filing their tax returns, information that is key to determining aid.
Filing a FAFSA requires obtaininig a personal identification number at www.pin.ed.gov, as well as data from the students' and parent's 2013 tax returns (2012 if last year's are not available), the students' and parents' W2 forms, bank statements and asset statements.
