CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Using a container of Crisco as an example of trans fat, Jasmyne Jackson explained to her class the difference between saturated, unsaturated (liquid) and trans fat. Her audience today included a special guest: Dr. Oz.
Not only were the students at Ginn Academy attentive, but Dr. Mehmet Oz was listening intently as well.
Oz, in town to promote the season debut next week on WEWS Channel 5 of "The Dr. Oz" show, made Ginn Academy his first stop today. He was there to see HealthCorps, a program that he founded 10 years ago, being put into practice.
Ginn Academy is the only Ohio school with a HealthCorps coordinator teaching classes as part of their curriculum.
