    DROP OFF /ARRIVAL

Parents/Guardians will pull up to the Montrose entrance and drop off students. Vehicles will enter the Riverside circle by traveling on Montrose from Warren Road. This is a rolling drop off. DO NOT PARK, please wait in line. This makes the process much smoother and safer for our scholars. At the circle, vehicles will be lined up at the curb, in a single file line. Vehicles will stop two feet before the entrance, where a staff member will direct them. Four cones will be placed a car length away from each other, near the front door. Vehicles will be moved forward to the cones. A staff member will be present to open doors and ensure smooth entrance into the building. Vehicles will then exit the circle by continuing on Montrose toward West 144th Street.

Students may enter at either door beginning at 9:10 AM for breakfast. Due to limited space, if you know your child will not be eating breakfast please do not have them arrive to school before 9:25 AM. The school is not responsible for students who are outside prior to the school starting time.  Students should not be left unattended before or after school hours.  Students are not permitted to play on the playground equipment prior to school starting.

No parent/guardian vehicles should be entering the parking lot during arrival or dismissal.

    DISMISSAL
We have a staggered dismissal: PreK dismisses at 3:35 PM.  Kindergarten dismisses at 3:45 PM. Bus Riders are dismissed at 3:52 PM. Car riders, walkers, and day care van riders are dismissed at 3:55 PM from the main entrance ONLY.

Please review the dismissal information with your child(ren), so that they will know where to meet you when you are picking them up and/or where to meet their siblings. If your child is responsible for picking up an elementary sibling they must meet them at the front of the school. All students in grades K-3 MUST be picked up by an adult, or older sibling, from their homeroom teacher. If your child in K-3 has permission to walk home alone, please make sure to fill out the walking waiver provided by the main office.

STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-8 ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DEPART SCHOOL PRIOR TO 3:55 PM IF THEY HAVE A SIBLING IN PRE-K OR KINDERGARTEN. THEIR ACADEMIC DAY ENDS AT 3:55 PM. PLEASE MAKE ANY NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS IN ORDER TO PICK UP ADDITIONAL SIBLINGS.

    DISMISSAL SAFETY REMINDER
When picking up your child(ren), please DO NOT direct them to walk in front of cars, or in between cars, in order to get into vehicles. Please ensure you are parked along the curb when picking up your child. This is for the safety of all of our students and families.

The goal of our dismissal is to get all students home safely in a timely fashion. When cars stop in the middle of the road waving students to get in the car this poses serious safety concerns. Patience is a must and following the dismissal guidelines is mandatory.

    PARKING LOT
Due to our staffing numbers, the parking lot now has dedicated spots for each staff member which are indicated by number. Parents are asked not to park in numbered spots or to block vehicles in. There are two visitor spots that parents are encouraged to use. Vehicles that are blocking designated parking locations will be towed at the owner’s expense. The middle lane must be kept open for emergency vehicles at all times.

    STREET PARKING
Parents may park on Montrose and Glencliffe from 10:00 AM-3:30 PM, except during special events. At all other times we ask that you park on neighboring streets, such as Birchwood and Westland. This will allow for car line vehicles to quickly and safely leave the school area.
