Ms. Dobbins

Welcome to 2nd Grade, Room A140 Bennett College! My name is Darlene Dobbins. I will be your child’s second-grade teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you a few things about myself personally. I am a native Clevelander. My first career was in retail banking. Years later, I went back to college to become a teacher. I have taught young children in grades 1-3 for 13 years. I have one wonderful daughter and 11 caring siblings.

As a parent, you are the most important person in your child’s life. Therefore, as parent and teacher, our partnership with regard to your child’s learning styles and habits, academic goals, homework assignments, and classroom discipline is an essential component of her success. With that in mind, I will keep you informed about your child’s lessons and behaviors through Class Dojo, telephone calls, notes, and our monthly newsletter. I am excited every time a parent wants to visit our class to read aloud, present to the class, or participate in a class project. As we work together, I know you and your child will be excited about the school year. Moreover, it gives me great pleasure to work with your child. I believe our parent-teacher collaboration will be a year of fun-filled change, learning, and growing together!
