Miriam Giardina

Ms. Giardina began teaching in CMSD in 2015-2016. Her background is in Project-Based Learning while she student-taught and taught at Facing History New Tech High School. She is very passionate about financial literacy, including it in her lessons and writing a blog for teens and young adults.

Ms. Giardina graduated from The Ohio State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. While there, she participated on a research team in the Math Education department, where she helped design professional development for K-12 Math Coaches and did data support. She then went on to earn her Master of Education from John Carroll University in 2015. She was a Woodrow Wilson Ohio Teaching Fellow and student taught at Cleveland Heights High School.

Ms. Giardina grew up in Sandusky, Ohio (yes, she went to Cedar Point all the time!). She loves travel and hopes to add more countries and states to her list of places visited. This list already includes France, Italy, Israel, the Smoky Mountains, and many major US cities such as New Orleans, NYC, Atlanta & Chicago. A lover of outdoors, Ms. Giardina spends time camping and taking naps in her hammock. After some time living on the west side, she bought a Cleveland Heights home in early 2018.
