Dear Parents & Guardians,
January is upon us and with that comes the start of the second semester, as well as one of the most dreaded 4 letter words, SNOW. I am encouraging every family to continue to get their children to school on time each and every day. One of our goals this year is to increase our attendance rate to 95%, an increase of 2%. Presently, we are at 87% and it is going to take a collective effort to help us meet this goal. At the midpoint of last school year we were at a 87% attendance rate.
I would like to encourage all families to drop their children off as close to 8:40 am as possible, as our doors do not open for scholars until 8:40 am and the weather has been cold. I would also like to remind families that school does not dismiss until 3:40 pm, picking children up early results in a loss of instructional time that adds up, and as we know, every minute counts.
With the inevitable inclement weather, I would like to encourage children to dress appropriately. Winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarfs will help keep our scholars nice and warm. If you need assistance with acquiring any "winter gear", please reach out and we will be more than happy to assist. Outdoor recess decisions will be made on a day to day basis.
Lastly, we can’t deny that the winter weather is here and I would like to share the link to our Weather/School Closings Frequently Asked Questions - https://www.clevelandmetroschools.org/domain/3984
