Student Process to Take AP Exam
- MAY 4TH – AP Student Practice Session online
- MAY 6th – AP Parent Webinar
- Check your tech device several days before the exam: Remove Grammarly – disable it.
- Charge your device beforehand – or- keep it plugged in.
- Review Student checklist
- Practice submitting responses.
- Two days before each AP test check for E-ticket for AP exam in your email or myap.collegeboard.org.
- Review your contact info. Review your school code.
- Label your exam papers in advance with AP ID, initials, page #
- Students do not need their lockdown browser.
- May 4th – student should get confirmation for all exams.
- Your E-Ticket is your access to your exam[s]! SAVE this ticket. Do not delete.
- Your E-Ticket will need you to submit your 6-digit AP ID [listed in your myap account page]
- Do NOT refresh your browser at any time.
- Spell check is permissible.
- Our exams start at 12 pm, 2pm or 4 pm. Be sure you’re clear on time – EST Eastern Standard Time
- Tickets can be activated 30 minutes before your AP Exam.
- Make sure devices are plugged in!!!
- This test is open book – so have your textbook & notes available before the exam.

- Do not use Internet Explorer to take your exam.
- Students have 3 ways they can submit a response:
- Type it in word/ google docs…copy & paste finished product into exam submission area
- Type your response & attach it
- Take a photo of your response with your phone & attach it [up to 5 pgs per question].
- Make sure your AP ID & initials are on EACH page of any attachment.
- Number each page [ 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, 4 of 4] Initials.
- The screen will be split with a Timer / countdown on right. Time turns red when you move into last 5 mins.
- If you don’t get to all the questions within the test questions, do not worry. You will be graded on the quality & depth of your answer.
- If you have 2 documents to submit/ 2 questions…. Submit each one separately.
- Make sure to hit the SUBMIT box to submit.
- Make sure you submit the 2nd /final half of exam when the timer is on zero. You will only have 5 minutes to do so.
Emergency Exam Interruption – Tech Shutdown
In the event that your device shuts down or you have a tech or personal emergency that causes you not to complete the exam, you have 48 hours from your interruption of the test to submit the Need Make-Up for.
- Type in: cb.org/requestmakeup
- You will need your original E-Ticket to do this.
- Explain why your exam was interrupted. Submit your AP ID, E-ticket & reason.
- You will be approved or denied by May 25th.
- Your Make-Up E-Ticket will be sent to your email 2 days before your Make-Up Test.
- If a student does NOT take the AP Exam – they will automatically be sent an e-Ticket 2 days before the late exam date
- June 20 is deadline to go into myap and select college you want to send 1 free set of AP scores
- July 15 – scores come out. Accesss online.
World Languages Students: AP Spanish & AP Latin
- Students need to take the exam on an Android Tablet –or- IOS phone w/ 30MB of storage & 25% power
