Important Return to School Information
Dear first grade families,
As I'm sure you are aware, CMSD is in the process of preparing to bring students back into the school buildings for hybrid learning. Currently, the plan is to have students back on March 15.
During hybrid learning, students will be in the school building two days a week, and will be remote two days a week. Wednesdays will be exactly the way they are right now. The days that your child will attend in person were mailed our last week. If you did not recieve this in the mail, call the Mound office at 216-838-1650.
If you do not feel comfortable sending your child into a school building at this time, you may opt-out of hybrid learning, and your child will continue to attend school in a fully remote setting.
If you would like to opt your child out of hybrid learning and remain fully remote, please fill out the survey form at the following link: Hybrid Opt-Out Form
Here are a few important things to consider when deciding whether or not to opt your child in or out of hybrid learning.
- If you choose to opt your child out of hybrid learning and have him/her stay remote, he/she will receive a new teacher for the rest of the school year.
- If you decide to go with CMSD's hybrid plan, your child MIGHT still have me as a teacher, but it is possible that he/she will be moved to another class for social distancing purposes.
- If you receive SNAP benefits and send your child to school for hybrid learning, you will lose the $7/day per child COVID bonus. If you depend on this extra benefit, you may want to opt-out of hybrid learning and remain remote.
- You have until March 19th to make your decision. After that, whichever you decide is final.
Again, if you would like to opt your child out of hybrid learning and remain fully remote, please fill out the survey form at the following link: Hybrid Opt-Out Form
