Student Services Purpose
The Office of Student Services attends to the extenuating/foundational circumstances that are barriers for scholars to learn and families to thrive.
Student Services serves under these core principles:
- Ensures that CMSD’s strong instructional core is accessible, scaffolded, and relevant for students with disabilities, students learning English, homeless and foster youth, students with medical needs, and gifted students.
- Designs, Supports, Implements, and Monitors evidence-based practices in schools to address the needs of the diverse groups/populations in CMSD.
- Uses data-driven decision-making to maximize support to schools.
- Focuses on culturally responsive practices and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to ensure access to learning for all diverse groups/populations.
- Builds understanding of student neurodiversity, wellness, health literacy, and foundational services across the organization that exist to support those needs.
