Legal Services Division

The Division of Legal Services consists of the Offices of Legal Services, Contract Implementation, and Student Hearings and Appeals. The Division provides legal services for matters involving the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and grievance and hearings processes for employees and students. We work in a proactive manner where possible to minimize exposure to legal risks and provide day-to-day legal support of the District's operations.

 

This includes: court actions brought by or against the District, investigations of claims of discrimination, contract review and approval, labor and employee relations, grievance processes, public records requests, student expulsion and appeal hearings, and employee discipline and other hearing processes and support.
