Welcome Newton D. Baker School of Arts families and friends!

I am the 7th and 8th grade Science teacher. Through this website you will be able to find picture of my students through out the school year as well as helpful links. This is my 10th year teaching at Newton D. Baker School of Arts and my 17th year teaching for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. I would love to have parent and community volunteers in my classroom as often as I can.

I lead a student-centered classroom. That means the students are given assignments and assessments and are responsible for completing before the due date. I strongly feel the students must take responsibility for their own learning in order to create a life-long learner. In addition, I strongly believe in reading in the content area. My students are learning how to read difficult science text as well as learning and applying vocabulary.  Finally, I strongly believe in hands on learning and visual learning. My students always complete either a hands on or virtual lab for each lesson.
