On September 12, 20144, the Ohio Department of Education released its 2013-14 school report cards, and while our letter grades have not yet improved significantly, the report card does show encouraging signs that reforms in place in a number of areas are already making a difference.
The 2013-14 school year was a year of disruption-- a year in which we launched systemic supports necessary to ensure every student’s success. We implemented key elements of the Cleveland Plan, with a focus on shifting culture in every department and building. The report card provides a number of data points to assess where progress is evident and where improvements are still needed this year.
- Significant gains in Grades 4-8 math achievement
- Significant gains in 10th grade achievement
- Significant progress in gap closing
- Record high graduation rate
