ABOUT THE FINANCE OFFICE
The Finance Office, also referred to in other districts as the treasurer’s office, is responsible for the overall fiscal management and coordination of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s $1.5 billion budget. Our mission is to support Cleveland schools through the strategic management and use of federal, state and local dollars by planning and aligning resource allocations to support academic priorities, prudent financial management, optimal investment, and clear and transparent reporting of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s financial resources. To support our schools and students, the Finance Department is organized into the following divisions: Accounts Payable and Technical Support, Financial Reporting and Cash Management, Payroll, Internal Audit, Budgets and Student Financial Activities, and Grants Reporting and Funded Programs.
The department provides financial services needed by schools, employees and vendors, monitors and analyzes budgetary activity, and provides financial leadership to the district according to state and federal legislation, governmental regulations, Board policies and sound financial practice.
The Finance and Procurement Activity Map reflects the key activities that are necessary to provide the financial and procurement services to Cleveland schools, staff and students.
