Leigh Bing

Degrees and Certifications:

Leigh Bing

My name is Leigh Bing. I have been an intervention specialist in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 16 years. I have taught at Shuler Middle School, Michael R. White, and have been at Denison for the past 8 years. I have spent most of my teaching career in the middle grades, however, for the past 2 years I have taught the primary grades. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. My mom was a teacher in Cleveland for 36 years as well. I would always come help her set up her classroom in the summer and help her grade papers on the weekends. This is where my love for teaching started. This year I am working with grades K-5 Reading.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Ashland University. I also earned my Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2005.

I have been happily married for 17 years and have 2 children. My son is a sophomore in high school and my daughter is in 5th grade. We are a big basketball family, both of my kids play basketball, so our weekends are mostly spent at basketball games and tournaments.
