CMSD is educating all scholars remotely for the first 9 weeks of the 2020-21 school year. While learning happens remotely, our hours of instruction will be 8:30-3:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays will be asynchronous days, so while students should still be working, they will not meet with their classes on Wednesdays.
From here, you can access your child's schedule, so you can know when he/she will be logging into class.
Synchronous Learning - When you hear synchronous learning think class time. This is student learning where teachers & students are online at the same time with a set schedule. The teacher provides learning resources & tasks in the eLearning platform during the scheduled class time. Not every student will necessarily be synchronous with the teacher at the same time. There could be learning centers, small group instruction, or one-on-one learning.
Asynchronous Learning - When you hear asynchronous learning think homework time. This includes completing assignments, independent reading, and group projects. This is student learning where teachers & students are NOT online at the same time. The teacher provides learning resources & tasks in the eLearning platform for students for students to access at a time that is either in the lesson or convenient for the student & their family.
