Senate games to be live-streamed
CMSD NEWS BUREAU

Families and other fans can watch live from home or other locations when streaming of Senate League sports begins on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Streaming will start with select high school boys and girls basketball games but will eventually expand to other sports and school activities under an agreement with DistrictWON. The local company will stream 30 events in the first year of a three-year agreement, and plans call for enlisting students and school staff to produce more.
Viewers can watch online at SenateLive.com when the John Hay boys basketball team plays at Rhodes at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A John Marshall boys home game against Valley Forge will be streamed at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.
Future broadcasts are to be determined. Senate Live will be the home for all games and activities streamed under the agreement.
The school board approved the DistrictWON contract in November, saying streaming would serve people who are unable to attend events or are hesitant because of the pandemic. The board also cited the learning opportunities for students who get involved in the production.
There is no cost to the District. DistrictWON will be paid with revenue from advertising that CMSD will approve.
Current sponsors include Bowling Green State University and the Cleveland-based marketing company Falls & Co. The broadcasts will be powered by BoxCast.
