Cleveland will honor Glenville High School’s state champion football team with a parade and pep rally on Thursday.

Coach Ted Ginn Sr., his players and public officials will leave the school in vehicles at 10 a.m. and travel west on St. Clair Avenue to Public Auditorium, the site of a victory celebration and pep rally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

The celebration is free and open to the public, with the doors to Public Auditorium opening at 9:30 a.m.

The parade and celebration will be livestreamed, with links that can be accessed at ClevelandMetroSchools.org, or on the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Facebook page, Twitter (@CLEMetroschools) or YouTube (@CMSDCommunications).

Glenville won the first state football championship in CMSD history by defeating Cincinnati Wyoming, 26-6, in the Division IV title game last Saturday. Glenville has made 19 trips to the Ohio high school playoffs and twice before this year finished as runner-up.
