The Society of Professional Journalists Cleveland Pro Chapter and CMSD sponsored their first-ever Journalism Day workshop on Dec. 11 at East Professional Center.
Media and other communications professionals worked with about 70 students from six high schools: Campus International, John Marshall School of Information Technology, Max S. Hayes, Cleveland High School for Digital Arts, Glenville and New Tech East.
The professionals talked to the students about the role and importance of journalists and career opportunities and helped them produce news videos. WOIO Channel 19 reporters Kendall Forward and Damon Maloney gave the keynote speech.
The workshop was presented in partnership with cleveland.com, The Plain Dealer, the Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists, the Press Club of Cleveland and WOIO.
