Five more preschools get top rating
CMSD NEWS BUREAU

Five more CMSD preschool sites have earned the state’s top rating of five stars for quality.
Preschools at Harvey Rice, James A. Garfield, Marion C. Seltzer, Sunbeam and Willow schools all received the designation from the Step Up to Quality program.
This brings to 25 the number of District preschools with five-star ratings. CMSD has 69 schools with preschool classes, and all are applying for evaluation under the voluntary quality rating system. As many as 15 more may be rated this year.
The expansion of high-quality preschool is among the many steps outlined in The Cleveland Plan, a customized blueprint for education reform in the city.
CMSD is a major partner and funder of PRE4CLE, a network of public and private providers formed three years ago to make high-quality preschool available to as many of the city’s 3- and 4-year-olds as possible.
