1st & 2nd Place at Erie Hack

On May 18th, two CIHS groups entered into the annual Erie Hack on Saturday at the Great Lakes Science Center under the guidance of our Computer Science Department (Mr. John Dutton, Ms. Bethany Hruschak, and Chris Andrakanich). The Erie Hack is a competition to generate and pitch technological ideas that will help to create a sustainable lake and surrounding ecosystem. Two other schools competed: MC2STEM (4 groups) and NIHF STEM HS (Akron, 2 groups). Overcoming the other CIHS groups who prepared for three weeks, the years of experience of the juniors and seniors from Akron and the STEM-focused curriculum of MC2, our groups placed FIRST and SECOND!!
