Apply now for college, Say Yes

October is College Application Month in Ohio.

Parents of CMSD seniors, that means it’s a good time for them to fill out both a college admissions application and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Seniors who graduate from CMSD high schools can receive Say Yes to Education scholarships, which will pay up to the full cost of tuition, minus federal and state aid. The scholarships pay tuition and fees but don’t cover expenses such as books, room or board.

Say Yes scholarships may be used at any two- or four-year public college or university or Pell-eligible training program in Ohio. The scholarships also may be used at more than 100 private colleges and universities nationwide.

Members of the classes of 2020, 2021 or 2022 must have been residents of the District or the city of Cleveland since Jan. 18, 2019, the day the city was named the nation’s fourth community chapter of Say Yes to Education. They also must have been continuously enrolled in a CMSD high school since that date.

Effective with this year’s freshman class, students must be continuously enrolled in a CMSD or partnering charter high school and live in the District or city from ninth grade until graduation.
