Spectrum helps CMSD provide Internet access
CMSD has added a Spectrum initiative to the tools used to ensure that every student has access to high-speed Internet service at home for school work.
Depending on location, the District now provides service to families through DigitalC or the Spectrum Stay Connected program.
CMSD has notified more than 5,000 families who are eligible for Spectrum Stay Connected. The families will each receive through the mail a router, modem and instructions for connecting to the Internet.
The District supplies a tablet, laptop or Chromebook to every student who needs a device. Parents and caregivers of students who need a device or Internet service should call their school.
Cleveland has been ranked as the worst connected big city in the United States.
The Jack, Joseph and Morton Supporting Mandel Foundation and the David and Inez Myers Foundation recently awarded $20 million to DigitalC, a nonprofit, to increase its capacity.
