In April, one of our Orchard families lost their home to a devastating fire. They lost everything after trying to rebuild their lives in Cleveland after escaping from the Congo.
Sixth grader Danielle woke up in the middle of the night to move his school clothes from the washer to the dryer, and saw the fire. He woke up everyone and got them out of the house safely.
The city of Cleveland gave Danielle a proclamation for this quick-thinking and heroism. Mayor Jackson said,"Danielle is a hero to all of Cleveland."
Refugee Response has also been raising money for the family to rebuild and our student coucil and staff donated $1000 to the family.
We are so proud of Danielle and his whole family. Refugee Response Donation Page
