The Lincoln-West School of Global Studies had the world knocking at its door Friday.
Federal Judge Dan Aaron Polster presided at a U.S. citizenship ceremony in the campus auditorium, administering the oath to 30 men and women from 24 countries.
Some proudly carried U.S. miniature flags. The joy in the room was palpable.
Afterward, civics students registered some of the new American citizens to vote. The students are part of Civics 2.0, a new CMSD approach that calls for learning the subject by living it.
Polster brought a ceremony to the campus annually for three years until the COVID pandemic interrupted the streak last year.
