Applications being taken for school board seat






Applications are being accepted until Nov. 30 for appointment to a vacant seat on the Cleveland Board of Education.

The appointment will be for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2019. The seat was formerly held by Justin Monday, who moved out of the District.

Under a state law specific to Cleveland, Mayor Frank G. Jackson appoints board members. Board members serve without pay.

The mayor will choose from among candidates recommended by a nominating panel. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. 

Applications should be mailed to the Nominating Panel at 601 Lakeside Avenue, Room 227, Cleveland, Ohio 44114, attention Monyka Price, or dropped off at City Hall, Room 227. Applications must be received by the close of business on Friday, Nov. 30.
