Portal opens for high school choice on Dec. 2

CMSD students and their families can begin selecting high schools for next school year when the portal opens on Monday, Dec. 2.

The District’s portfolio system allows students to attend any school they wish, provided that space is available and, in a few cases, they meet admissions criteria.

Lotteries will be held if demand exceeds capacity in a grade or school.

Incoming freshmen who want to qualify for Say Yes to Education scholarships must be continuously enrolled in a District or partner charter high school and live in the District or city of Cleveland from ninth-grade until to graduation.

The scholarships pay up to the full value of tuition, minus federal and state aid, at all two-year and four-year public colleges and universities and Pell-eligible training programs in Ohio and more than 100 private colleges and universities across the country.
