CMSD is beginning a new school year. To help families prepare for nine weeks of remote learning, the District has posted a back-to-school checklist on its website.
A link to the checklist, found at ClevelandMetroSchools.org/ReopeningCMSD, connects families with video tutorials and other information on setting up a daily routine, creating a home learning environment, logging on, following a student’s schedule, picking up meals, keeping children safe on the internet and more. Also included is a list of important phone numbers.
"Remote learning is new to all of us -- students, parents, and teachers alike," CEO Eric Gordon said. "I have urged our teachers to take our time this week to help all of us ease into this new way of learning. I’ve asked teachers to take time to help students and families with connectivity issues, learning these new platforms, settling into good school routines and making sure that we all gain some comfort with how school is going to work."
ClevelandMetroSchools.org/ReopeningCMSD also features more general information, including a copy of CMSD’s reopening plan, regular updates from the CEO and a video library of answers to Frequently Asked Questions, may still be found at .
Most schools begin classes on Sept. 8. Year-round and some extended-year high schools started on Aug. 24.
