What's New
Employee Pay Cycle Change Transition Guide
In the 2019-20 school year, the District will initiate a pay cycle change that will permanently transition all CTU members to 24 annual pays and temporarily switch non-CTU salaried employees to 27 annual pays. Non-CTU salaried employees will return to 26 pays in the 2020-21 school year. To help employees prepare for the change, we have created a number of resources, include a comprehensive CMSD Employee Pay Cycle Change Transition Guide.

What's Coming
Employee Pay Cycle is Changing
In the 2019/2020 school year many CMSD employees will experience a change in pay frequency. Salaried employees currently receive 26 paychecks paid every other Friday. However, every 11-12 years, our biweekly pay cycle results in a 27th payroll Friday. To ensure employees do not experience gaps in pay or overpayment, the District is implementing some pay cycle changes that will affect all CTU members and non-CTU salaried employees.
During the 2019/2020 school year, employees will experience the following changes:
- CTU Members will transition from biweekly pay to semimonthly pay (24 paychecks at 1/24th of annual salary) effective the first pay of the 2019/2020 school (August 5th for members at year-round and extended schools and August 20th for members working at standard schools). This is a permanent change negotiated in the last Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Non-CTU Salaried Employees will receive 27 paychecks at 1/27th of their annual salary. (In the 2020/2021 school year all non-CTU salaried employees will return to 26 paychecks at 1/26th of their annual salary.)
- Non-CTU Hourly and Daily Employees will not experience any change in pay frequency.

Workday Tips & Tricks
Available Fund Raising Dollars
The Workday Budget-to-Actual report can be used to identify fund raising dollars available for use. Follow the steps below to view available fund raising dollars for your school.
STEP 1: Log into Workday
STEP 2: Type cmsd budget to actual (or cmsd bud to act) into the search field, hit enter. Select CMSD Budget-to-Actual Report from the menu.
STEP 3: Complete the Period, Plan Structure, and Fund fields. Click OK at the bottom of the screen.
STEP 4: For the fastest search, always populate the cost center field.
