A Pandemic Renaissance

 

DuffyLit will offer a 3-week Summer Performing Arts Day Camp for ages 8 – 18 at DuffyLit Studios, 1919 East 107^th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106

Campers will be engaged in performing arts activities:  (Music: Vocal/Piano, Dance, Theatre/Drama, Reading, History/Culture).  Local field trips that support the curriculum and some “Just for fun” local field trips will be scheduled. The camp activities will be based in the cultural significance of the contributions in music and dance that African Americans have made to American and World Culture.

Special emphasis will be on performing arts that were developed and thrived during the Historic Harlem Renaissance.

Through these activities campers will be encouraged to use their innate talents in creating performing arts projects informed by their experience living through the “sheltering in place” Covid 19 pandemic.
