Ms. Baez is our only bilingual Instructional Assistant and Interpreter and she has been front and center in helping our families communicate with the school. Few of our teachers are fluent in Spanish. Aside from her language support, Ms. Baez has made a special effort in helping Scholars with disabilities and their families. For one particular family experiencing hardships, Ms. Baez provided her cell phone number to give the family an additional point of contact. Because of her attention and care for this family, the Scholars are coming to school and communicating more openly with their teachers. In yet another instance, Ms. Baez spent a significant amount of her lunch time assisting a parent complete social security disability forms. Ms. Baez advocates for our scholars and their families. We are blessed to have her at Walton.
