PSAT 8/9 & PSAT (Wednesday October 16)

On the morning of Wednesday, October 16th, 9th-11th grade students will take the PSAT (10th/11th) and PSAT 8/9 (9th). These important exams align to the SAT, the important college entrance exam that students will take as 11th graders.

It is crucial for students to do their best on these exams, as they are an important part of preparing the university application and can open doors for many scholarships in addition to admission into more competitive colleges.

We encourage students to practice for the exam using the Official SAT Prep on Khan Academy. Click here for instructions on how to log in and make sure that we are tracking your practice hours (so that you can be eligible for raffle prizes).

Parents are working to put together healthy snacks for the break during testing--contact our IB Coordinator (DP) Ms. Sarah Schneider if you would like to help. Thanks to Ms. Narine, Ms. Job, Ms. Kirchner, and Ms. Dangerfield for volunteering already!

Parent/Teacher Conferences (Thursday, October 24)

Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up soon on Thursday, October 24th. This year, the district has changed the format of Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences with students having a half-day of school instead of the full day off. Please note that students will be released at 11:35 AM on Thursday, October 24th.

Look for a separate communication early this week with more information about the times and format for CIHS' Parent/Teacher Conferences. As always, no appointments are required for Fall Conferences.

Recent News & Highlights

Latinx Heritage Month Assembly

On Friday, several students presented highlights from their families and roots during our first "cultural heritage month" assembly of the year. The Latinx Heritage Month assembly was that we have conducted at CSU's Berkman Hall (Main Classroom), which we have moved to this year for purposes of space.

Thanks to our many students who shared their stories, poetry, and dance to help enhance our international-mindedness as a school community!
