With the stroke of a pen, Desmond’s dream of playing college football is becoming a reality.

During the Senate League National Signing Day ceremony, Desmond and 20 other student athletes signed their letters of intent before an audience of educators, coaches, and proud family members.

“I am just so grateful,” said the John Marshall School of Civic and Business Leadership senior.

Desmond plans to attend Notre Dame College in South Euclid, but he received more than a dozen offers. His first scholarship offer came days after he attended the CMSD HBCU Combine in December and caught the eye of the Alabama A & M University recruiter.

“It was like the offers just keep on coming in,” said Desmond. “The whole recruiting process was crazy.”

Desmond says Notre Dame felt more like home, which is why he wants to attend school there in the fall.

Arvelle Reese

Arvelle, a Ginn Academy Senior, plans to play football at The  Ohio State University.

Arvelle, a four-star linebacker, plans to attend Ohio State University. He and 15 other Glenville High School football players, who played on the 2022 state championship team, and four members of the John Hay High School football team, also participated in the signing ceremony.
