    Level Problem Behavior Disciplinary Options
    1
    • Coming to class unprepared (no work, book, pencils, etc.)
    • Tardy to class
    • Dress-code violation
    • Items out that do not belong out (phone, keys, personal grooming items, etc.)
    • Eating, drinking or chewing gum in class
    • Reinforcement of appropriate behaviors
    • Warning
    • In-class time out/think sheet
    • Seat change
    • Parent Contact with note
    • Conference with student
    • Ask to put item away (keys, cell phone, lotion, etc.)
     
    2 *Chronic violation of Level I offenses***
    • Intentional Disrespect
    • Intentional Disruption
    • Walking out of class without planner/ Skipping class
    • Multiple level 1 offenses
    • Intentional Defiance
    • Disruption on a school bus
    • Lying
    Appropriate when Level 1 intervention/consequence has been ineffective.
    Teachers use the following interventions to help the student change behavior in the classroom.
    • Phone call/text/email guardian
    • Letter of apology
    • Loss of privileges
    • Detention with teacher (during or after school)
    • Think sheet
    • Minor write-up/ detention
    • Confiscation of item
    • Right of Removal
     
    3 ***Chronic violation of Level II offenses***
    • Cheating 
    • Flagrant disruption
    • Abusive language/Profanity
    • Non-compliance
    • Physical aggression
    • Skipping detention
    • Physical contact with a student
    • Safety Drill procedure non-compliance
    • Theft (minor)
    • Harassment 
    • Forgery 
    • Property Damage (minor)
    Appropriate when Level 2 intervention/consequence has been ineffective.
    Teachers use the following interventions to help the student change behavior in the classroom.
    • Referral to NOW/WAVE mediation
    • Behavior Contract
    • Planning Center
    • Shuffle between classes
    • Conference with parent/guardian.
    • Minor write-up/detention
    • Think sheet
    4 ***Chronic violation of Level III offenses***
    • Property damage (major)
    • Leaving school without permission
    • Gang related activity
    • Using supplies inappropriately (ie. as weapons intended to cause harm to someone)
    • Fighting/Play Fighting
    • Bullying
    • Theft (major)
    • Use/possession of tobacco, alcohol, drugs
    • Vandalism 
    • Bomb threat/false alarm
    • Arson
    • Possession/use of weapons
    • Physical contact with a staff member/adult
    • Menacing 

    Appropriate when Level 3 intervention/consequence has been ineffective.
    Teachers use the following interventions to help the student change behavior in the classroom.
    • Administration to notify Parent/guardian 
    • SST
    • Office referral required
    • Administration to notify Parent/guardian Suspension or Return with parent
    • Police
    • 15/10 & 11

    **When implementing any consequence, the desired outcome should always be focused on reducing unwanted behaviors and increased desired behaviors. Maintain detailed records off all interventions, consequences, contacts and submit with office referrals.
