Free Summer STEM Camp for Middle School Students

Every student deserves access to a better future. That’s why we’ve launched the Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers program– an engaging, hands-on program developed to enrich learning through design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality, social entrepreneurship and mentorship. -
Look Up To Cleveland Summer Program
June 19-23, 2023 | Cleveland Leadership Center
Summer Session candidates must be entering their junior or senior year in the fall. Tuition is $350. Financial assistance is available. Throughout the week, students will:
Spend time connecting with your like-minded classmates.
Build teamwork skills
Learn about urban planning in Cleveland including the role community development organizations play.
Explore local climate change and environmental justice initiatives and resources, as well as discover ways to get involved and make a positive impact.
Delve into issues of hunger, food insecurity, economic disparity, and social determinants of health. Learn about local efforts to provide healthy food to all, as well as ways to help advance this work.
Meet local governmental leaders and discover personal leadership strengths and areas for growth. Learn about ways to get involved in local government before they are eligible to vote.
Reflect on your experience and consider ways to continue developing their leadership skills and involvement. -
AdvantageCLE Summer Camp 2023
June 7 - July 28 | Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
AdvantageCLE offers a FREE eight-week camp each summer at Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center in Cleveland. Children receive breakfast and lunch and rotate through five components (Tennis + Fitness, Literacy, STEM, Poetry Slam and Wellness) per day. Additional activities such as talent shows, and field trips are included. -
Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative Essay Contest
The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative is pleased to present our 17th Annual Essays Celebrating Dads Event. We hope you and the youth of our County will participate.
The Essays Celebrating Dads Event is a countywide opportunity for Cuyahoga County youth in grades Kindergarten through 8th and is designed to recognize the importance of responsible fathers in our county. -
Hackerthon
June 3, 2023 | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm @ Laurel School
This FREE EVENT for Cleveland -area girls in Grades 6-8 is designed to introduce middle school girls to Python-a beginner-friendly, multi-purpose programming language. Participants will learn the basics of Python, work in groups to build a project to address an issue they care about, hear from women in the field and receive mentorship from High Schoolers. -
First Tee Cleveland Summer and Fall Sessions
First Tee invites kids and teens from across Greater Cleveland to participate with them for some fun and friendship on the fairways! If your child is interested in making friends, being outside, learning about golf, improving golf skills, or having fun, then First Tee has a program for you! In a safe environment, participants will seamlessly learn from trained coaches all about First Tee's Game Changing Behaviors and Life Skills.

Environmental Justice Semester
The Environmental Justice Semester (EJS) at Laurel is a 15-week immersive, academic semester program open to Tenth and Eleventh Grade girls from any public, private, parochial, or charter school Northeast Ohio school. The learner-centered Semester takes place on Laurel’s 150-acre Butler Campus in Russell Township, Ohio, which offers a natural space with terrestrial, aquatic, and agricultural ecosystems for student changemakers to devise solutions for the ecological and social challenges facing urban Cleveland, a rustbelt city grappling with many environmental and social justice issues.

Case Western Reserve University's Shipwreck Camp and Environmental Heros Program
Shipwreck Camp will take you on an exploration and introduce field science in a way that will captivate your child. Environmental Heroes is a free after school program through out the year that has a two week summer component for developing and improving field observation and investigative skills.

University Circle Inc.'s (UCI) summer camp, Circle Explorers, will engage rising 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students from our neighborhood schools in a discovery of their environment, University Circle, and Greater Cleveland.

Nature Center at Shaker Lakes Summer Camps
Offering 9 unique weeks of day camp for children 4 years old–
GRADE 9 with themes such as Water Safari and Archery, your
junior naturalist will spend each week of camp learning,
exploring and having FUN with our highly trained
environmental educators. The camp day runs from 9-12 or 12-3
for 4-kindergarten and 9-3 for entering kindergarten – 9 grade.
