Karamu House Summer Arts Program

Karamu House annual Summer Arts Intensive will explore Shakespeare Midsummer’s Night Dream through an afro-futurism lens. In this seven-week intensive, middle school and high school students will receive training in theatre and dance. Students who are interested must audition for the program. All skill levels are encouraged to audition; we want to see your passion most of all!

Karamu House is the oldest producing African American theatre in the country, where people of different races, religions and economic backgrounds come together through the arts. Our Summer Arts Intensive builds confidence, technique, and community.

Auditions can be submitted virtually April 4th-May 2nd. In-person auditions will be hosted May 6th and 7th at Karamu House, 2355 East 89th Street, Cleveland, Oh 44106. Scholarships and financial assistance is available.

Program runs Monday-Friday June 6th- July 22nd 9:00am - 3:30pm
