• Dear Hannah Gibbons Families,

The fall season is in full swing and our 2016-2017 school year has gotten off to a GREAT start!  We are pleased to have you and your child be a part of our HG family. It is hard to believe that we have already kicked off the second quarter.

Please mark your calendars for our first Academic Night of the year on November 17, 2016 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Research and experience shows us that a parent’s/guardian’s involvement in a child’s education is directly related to his/her success in school.  To maximize your child’s success, emphasize the importance of education through the following:

    • Ensure that your child is at school on time each day.
    • Attend parent/teacher conferences and school events.
    • Monitor your child’s homework daily.
    • Expect and support positive behavior at school.
    • Read with your child or encourage your child to read daily

October is “Perfect Attendance Month.”  Teachers are challenging every student to do their best to come to school each and every day.  One of our most important goals at Hannah Gibbons is to continue to increase the level of student attendance.  One of the most influential indicators of how well a student might do in school is by looking at his/her attendance and participation.  I would like to ask for all of our families to continue in your support of this very important goal by making sure that your child is in school each day.  Of course if they are sick or contagious we want them to have the necessary time to recover.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Gregory.adkins@clevelandmetroschools.org or 216.838.0750.

    Educationally,

    Greg Adkins
