    In- Person School Operational Hours 

    School Hours: 7:35 a.m. - 2:05 p.m. Extended Day 2:05 pm-2:55 pm 
    School Office: 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    During the school office hours, parents and visitors can get assistance from office staff either by telephone or in person.

    Student Arrival: NO EARLIER than 7:15 a.m.

    Students cannot arrive at school before 7:15 a.m., as there is no adult supervision for your child prior to that time. Your child arriving at school prior to 7:15 a.m. jeopardizes their safety.

    Breakfast: 7:15 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

    Only those students who are eating breakfast will be allowed into the lunchroom during this time. Any students who arrive after 7:30 a.m. will be allowed to take a grab and go breakfast which will be eaten in their first period classroom. 

    Tardiness: AFTER 7:55 a.m.

    Any student who arrives after 7:55 a.m. is considered tardy and must report immediately to the office and receive a tardy pass. Tardy students will not be accepted into class without a pass from the office. Students who repeatedly come to school late may be reported to the Department of Children & Family Services.

    Student Dismissal:

    Pre-K= 1:40 p.m.

    Kindergaerten = 1:45 p.m.

    Carpool Grades 1-8 = 1:56 p.m. 

    Dismissal Locations:

    - PreK =Will exit out of the Cafeteria exit doors.

    - Kindergarten = Will Dismiss from the MLK exit doors

    - Grades 1-3 ( Walkers) = Will be dismissed from the MLK exit doors

    - Grades 4-8 (Walkers) = Will be dismissed from the E 116th Street Door

    Parents/Caregivers who scholars are participating in parent car pick up is asked stay in their vehicle and follow the instructions of our HRW staff. 


    Early Dismissal: Students WILL NOT be released early from school without the office receiving communication and consent from a parent IN ADVANCE. Also, STUDENTS WILL NOT BE DISMISSED EARLY from school after 1:00 p.m. After 1:00p.m., PARENTS MUST WAIT OUTSIDE until students are dismissed. Parents who repeatedly pick their child up early from school may be reported to the Department of Children & Family Services.

    Late Pick-up: After 2:15 p.m., ALL students MUST be signed out by a parent or other designee. Parents who repeatedly pick their child up early from school may be reported to the Department of Children & Family Services.
