• Welcome to The George Washington Carver STEM School!

Hello Team Carver Parents and Guardians,

We’re now in October—the third month of our school year—and the momentum at George Washington Carver STEM is strong! Our scholars are settling into routines, and our team is focused on building a culture of daily attendance and academic excellence.

    October Focus: Every Day Matters

This month, we are doubling down on the importance of showing up every day. Attendance is the key to unlocking academic success, and we need your help to ensure our scholars are present, on time, and ready to learn.

    Why Attendance Matters:

    • Students who attend regularly perform better academically.
    • Daily attendance builds strong habits and a sense of responsibility.
    • Being in school helps scholars stay connected to their learning and peers.

Let’s make October a month of strong attendance and strong learning!

    Reading Challenge: October Reading Odyssey

As the leaves turn and the days grow cooler, we’re also celebrating the magic of reading. Reading is a gateway to imagination, knowledge, and connection—and it’s a skill that supports success across all subjects.

Challenge Details: All scholars are invited to participate in our October Reading Odyssey. Those who read for at least 20 minutes each day and log their reading will be honored with a special recognition at the end of the month.

Tips for Supporting Reading at Home:

    1. Create a Reading Space: Cozy corners with blankets and pillows make reading inviting.
    2. Be a Reading Role Model: Let your child see you reading.
    3. Visit the Library Together: Discover new books and authors.
    4. Talk About Books: Ask questions and share thoughts about stories you read together.

Thank you for your continued partnership. With your support, we’re building a school year full of growth, joy, and success—one day at a time.

Let’s keep showing up, reading strong, and rising together!
