George Washington Carver is a PreK-8 school in Cleveland's Central neighborhood where students develop the academic and social and emotional skills they'll need to become successful adults.
Through strong relationships with teachers, parents and community partners, George Washington Carver students have everything they need to reach their full potential. Our educators know that each student has unique learning needs and we offer support for students who need enrichment or intervention.
George Washington Carver uses a rigorous curriculum and integrate technology in daily lessons in activities. Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, the school is launching a one-to-one initiative that will assign each student their own device.
Our school also offers:
after school programs such as tutoring, chess club, dance, relationship building workshops and Parent Academy.
partnerships with Burten, Bell, Carr, Inc. and City Year Cleveland.
basketball, track, volleyball and cheerleading.
a blended curriculum with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
resources for parents to help their children continue to learn at home.
Cleveland has been become the fourth chapter of Say Yes to Education, a historic development that will bring college scholarships to CMSD students while also providing services designed to keep them on track to graduation.
